which is a lot easier than it sounds - for the uninitiated:

# groff -Tlatin1 -mdoc strtonum.3 2>&1 | less

(you may want to substitute another device for latin1, e.g. utf8 or
koi8-r; see grotty(1) for a list of supported devices)
