As far as _I_ know the console mouse only supports copy and
paste, no clicking and selecting.
Anyway - once you got used to using the F-keys and once you have
set Options --> configuration --> lynx-like motion (which allows
you to browse your directory tree with the arrow keys) you will
never ask for mouse clicking again - so fast it works.
