| I followed the "save bookmarks, delete directory" steps when I installed
| 1.0.1.p_2. Do I have to do it again for _4?

No, not if you did it for _2.

|
| What exactly did you change between _2 and _4 that allows extensions?

I fixed the need to run Firefox as root. Extensions and themes install
just fine. For example, I just installed Adblocker, set my filter to
"*", and I'm good to go. No ads on Freshports or OSNews.

| I really do not want to go through the whole delete the directory
