port 111 is the portmapper, so you should just put 

	portmap_enable="NO"

in to your /etc/rc.conf, and on the next reboot it won't start. to turn it
off right now, just kill the portmapper process. (it should be running as
'portmap' on the process table).

as far as 1024 goes, i don't know, your best bet would be to check to see
what else is running on your machine. since it's not a reserved port, it
could be just about anything. try telnetting to that port, and seeing what
comes up.
