Hi Scott!

You right only partially :)
The old method of kernel building doesn't work correctly (config 
KERNEL;cd ../compile/KERNEL;make depend;make)
Using make buildkernel ones produces a real support for SMP but warnig 
remains and power button doesn't work :(
