As I said, that doesn't surprise me.

In general, reinstallation is a last way out.  Microsoft has made the
approach popular, since they don't have any other way of handling many
problems.  On FreeBSD, about the only reason for reinstallation is
catastrophic data corruption.

Look at it on the bright side: it proves that it's an enlightenment
problem.

I gather there are still a number of bugs in it.

Do you have the latest version?  I know you said where you got it
from, but I no longer have the information.  If it's off a CD-ROM, you
might find something better on the Net.
