As for nVidia not "caring for hackers", well, this particular comment reminds me of the whiners over at Slashdot who are talking about ditching their nV cards and going to another video card manufacturer who do open up their driver specifications. I prefer to wait and see what nVidia does before judging them based on "leaked information" and heresay. To outright judge them on actions which they themselves have made no public news release is premature. In fact, I would laugh pretty hard if all these people ditched their video cards for another manufacturer and nVidia released top-notch drivers for their cards under X. Besides, FreeBSD still needs a framebuffer device and GART support on the operating system level (ala Linux and NetBSD) to become a viable gaming platform. And even then, I'm not sure I would play games on my FreeBSD machine(s) simply because X has a LONG way to go before it's good enough to compete with my Wintendo. At any rate, I'm taking this a little personally and rambling to boot. Do with it as you will. I apologize in advance for any perceived insult. -Chris To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
