Because make failed I didn't see pkg-message. So I would have made a kernel with the original iicbus and iicbb devices. What order should I be doing things in? You obvlously have to do make patch-iicbb after make as make patch-iicbb after a make clean gave this: cannot open /usr/ports/multimedia/pvr250/work/dev/cxm/Patch.iicbb-fbsd5: No such file or directory *** Error code 2 Stop in /usr/ports/multimedia/pvr250. So I ran make again, and got the error I posted at the beginning of this thread. I ran make patch-iicbb at this point and it patches correctly. I have rebuilt my kernel, rebooted and ran make again and it worked fine. I'm confused - what is the procedure for installing the pvr250 port then? 1. Install kernel sources if you haven't already 1. Put hcwPVRP2.sys in /usr/ports/distfiles 2. make in /usr/ports/multimedia/pvr250. Ignore the error. 3. make patch-iicbb 4. Build & install a new kernel with iicbus and iicbb devices 5. Reboot 6. Run make again in /usr/ports/multimedia/pvr250. It will work this time. 7. make install 8. kldload cxm_iic 9. kldload cxm 10.
