This won't be changed.  polling works on more systems than a specific
IRQ, and the IRQ to use varies so widely that any choice is likely to
be wrong.

This sucks.  I know this sucks.  But I know that it sucks less than
the other sucking alternatives.

Or, to quote George Carlin: "We suck less than ever before."
