I installed a IDE tape drive, it comes up in dmesg ast0: TAPE <Seagate STT20000A> at ata0-slave using PIO4 But I cant backup anything onto it doing "tar -cvf /dev/ast0 /etc" just makes it create a tar file in /dev and not backup to tape Doing "MAKEDEV all" doesn't create the device either Can some one help?
