That is the query screen.  At the top and bottom of the screen are "New" 
links.  These link to the submit area.

That is incorrect.  GPT with a PMBR will boot on most older systems.

But it would not be surprising if this HP system was one of the ones 
with a broken BIOS or buggy ACPI implementation.
