I guess many of you know the problem:
If APM is enabled in the BIOS, then this is fine for switching the
monitor into suspend or standby mode automatically when unattended,
but the system time slows down so that 24hrs later it is 2 or 3 hours
behind the CMOS clock :-(
If APM is disabled in the BIOS, the time is OK, but the monitor can
only be protected by switching it off :-(

Is there a fix for this problem, now?
