I'm trying to install 2.2.7 on a machine for a friend of mine and they have a
3Com 3c900 PCI card in their machine. Everytime I boot the machine off of a
2.2.7 boot floppy it locks up after detecting the network card. It only
spits out the first line saying "vx0 detected blah blah" and never prints
out a line giving which media it is using or its ethernet address. In fact,
it completely hangs. My friend also has a set of 2.2.6 CD's, so I tried
booting off the first CD and got the same error. I'm considering creating a
boot disk with the new xl driver on it to try that out, but I'd rather find a
simpler solution if possible. It seems that other people use the vx driver and
3c900 without too much of a problem. Please cc me on any replies as I'm not
reading this list, thanks.
