I'm not proposing a new kernel config option as a "solution". It's only an easy workaround for some __Iwill__ motherboards (and perhaps some Compaqs). After every update of the FreeBSD sources (using CVSup), the file sio.c is renewed. Then, before compiling a new kernel, patching sio.c is needed again, and again...
