First off, thanks for the help the last two days - I appreciate your comments very much. I am going to add my five 500 GB disks to my system today, and I am going to tell my adaptec card to create a 1999 GB array on them. Therefore, the "disk" that will be presented to FreeBSD by the raid card will be <2TB. This means that I should be able to use sysinstall. My question is: - Is there _any reason whatsoever_ that this method: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/disks-adding.html (top item, 17.3.1, adding a new disk to an existing system using sysinstall) will not work with 6.1-RELEASE and a 1999 GB disk ? Any chance this document is slightly out of date, or some minor changes that are in 6.1 that aren't in the docs yet ? Or can I just follow these instructions to the letter and happily add my disk ? Thanks.
