To start the window manager, insert something like this in a file called .xinitrc: fvwm2 & Window managers all use a configuration file to describe the appearance of the screen and the functions available with mouse keys. Unfortunately, I can't recall what the default .fvwm2rc (the config file for fvwm2) looks like. Almost certainly, though, you'll have a menu which allows you to start other xterms (and a lot of other goodies). Try it. If you have problems, let me know. > 2.)
