You are correct to close this, but I suspect that the problem
might have been whatever flash plugin the browser was trying to
use.  At the time I had both gnash and swfdec-gnome installed.
Not sure why: neither of them have ever seemed to work properly
for me.  Everything has been a *lot* more stable since I removed
them.
