You can install XFree86 and a window manager of your choice (GNOME, KDE,
icewm, etc.).

FreeBSD has i18n (internationalization) support, so if it is properly
configured all installed apps supporting i18n will "speak" your language.

Yes.  The FreeBSD Ports Collection contains almost everything you will
need (cdrecord, burncd, qmail, postfix, etc..)

FreeBSD supports many SCSI devices, video cards, sound cards, ...

list of supported hardware.
