Same thing happened to me.  I was tracking -stable starting from the
2.1.5 live filesystem, and it worked up until #196, at which point I
got the errors described.  Just today I deleted the source code tree,
restarted from src-2.1.0146A.gz, and was able to CTM it all the way up
through level 202.
