Problem:

sio3/COM4: probe crashes ATI video card.

Two solutions:

1)  Install 2.1.5 instead.  It fixes this bug.
2)  Disable sio2 and 3 in -c.

Once you get your video working, you can use SCROLL-LOCK to scroll back.
