There is no 5.4-CURRENT.  The tag is correct to get you -CURRENT, but in 
this case you are actually getting 6.0-CURRENT.

If you want to stick with the 5.x branch, use tag=RELENG_5.  That will 
get you 5.3-STABLE, the branch that will lead to 5.4-RELEASE.
