Those things are DEFINITELY winmodems

I struck those disasters recently on a bunch of machines purchased for a
telemarketing call center. They only just worked with the original Win98SE
but refused to work when I changed the O/S to Win2000 Pro ... a sure sign of
a dreaded winmodem
