I think its great your concerned with which language is the fastest.=20
But if your writing a eshop you also need to be concerned with:
1-which one is fastest to develop on
2-which one is easiest to maintain
3-which one is supported better by server=20

Your not using a SQL server? Does this mean no mysql, msql? Are you =
using any DB?
If no DB then another questions is what language supports sessions.

I've done e-commerce sites in both PHP and Perl, sites with thousands =
of product and its never
the speed of the scripting language that causes the shopping cart to =
be slow. Well, unless I wrote some
bad code. But besides that the carts are slow because of over all site =
design. IE. graphics are to large
or pages are trying to display to much. =20

I didn't mean to purposely not answer your question. It just that I =
think any of the language you choice in
pure speed will be fast enough for an e-commerce site. For example, I =
can write a php script that does a query on
a mysql table and returns with over a MB of information. Now how do I =
get that data displayed on the site so that
the user can view it over the 28.8 modem?

I want to running a eshop web site ( define not use SQL server )
