This would be better than others (I prefer '4.3-RELEASE_9'), but the
release name is kept by kernel itself; you should reinstall your
kernel and reboot even if only telnetd (or any other userland
programs/libraries) is patched.

There is a chance that writing release name to a file but... is it OK
for all of us?
