Subject:   getting kernel source v2.2.6 from cdrom?

hi,
Trying to find kernel source,login as `root` mounted cdrom ,disk1 
cd /, cat /cdrom/dists/src/sys.* | tar xzvf -
returns: cat:no match, gzip:stdin:unexpected end of file,
tar:child returned status 1, repeated for all four disks
get the same error? `xv` examination  of cdrom contents says there is no
`dists` directory on any of the disks?
