Can you check to make sure your SASL library was compiled and reinstalled
after uthe NSS code went into -CURRENT and sendmail has also linked against
that newer code?  If that all looks ok, please try a test run with
debugging enabled, e.g.:

date | sendmail -v -d95.5 -OLogLevel=12 root

And look at the results in /var/log/maillog (-d95.5 turns on extra SMTP
AUTH logging).
