Scenario : I have a full dump to tape of a FreeBSD (v3.2 probably,
maybe older).

Box gets fried. I get new hardware to restore box onto.

I install fresh vanilla FBSD to it (hopefully same version of OS as
original!)

I then restore my tapes to the new box.

Question : Will this work? Surely the kernel may well be different?

What issues need I look at to ensure as smooth a restoration path as
possible?
