I just posted a patch for drm that adds the current bits needed to play
around with the r6/7xx 3d code.

This is still early code and will likely change somewhat before it is
all over.  Right now, glxgears will at least run, though it is quite
slow due to a memcpy() in the mesa code that needs to be handled in
hardware.  If you want to mess with it, you will need libdrm,
xf86-video-(ati|radeonhd) and mesa (r6xx-rewrite branch) from git.
