Keep in mind that my gateway is running 3.4-RELEASE but the only options you
should need in the kernel are:

options IPFIREWALL
options IPDIVERT

This is all outlined in the man page...if you follow those steps to the
letter you will have a gateway ready to rock-n-roll in no time.  You will
have to make sure that your system is set up as a gateway in /etc/rc.conf -
but that's all outlined in the man page as well.

For 4.x specific stuff you'll have to go back to the list  :)
