To be honest with you, trying to read a patch to a patch file
makes my brain hurt.

If you can rework that into a patch against genkdmconf.c so it's
possible to tell what's actually going to happen to the source file,
then I can make a better assessment. 

Otherwise, looks pretty good, from a quick eyeballing. I've not
mucked around with genkdmconf.c since July, I think, so I'll have to
go over it again.
