I want to try to fix this when I get a little time, but it's not a
problem for me, so it may not happen in my lifetime. :-(

What I wonder is why it's a problem for you? I use DHCP exclusively to
configure my network on my laptop as it moves between three different
nets on a regular basis. While I see the timeout messages every time
the card starts, it has never effected DHCP operation.

What DHCP server are you using? I'm using isc-dhcp2 in all locations,
but this should be irrelevant as the server never gets a packet until
the card comes on-line. How are your pccard.conf, rc.conf, and
dhclient.conf set up?

I have nothing special in dhclient.conf and only a list of really
available IRQs in pccard.conf. But I have several things in rc.conf:
pccard_enable="YES"
pccard_ifconfig="DHCP"
pccardd_flags="-z"
