	It is perfectly possible. Depending on what you
want to do exactly you will need a base system + samba
installed. I'd suggest you go to http://www.freebsd.org
and check at the very least the links under "Documentation".
A good start would be learning how to install the system
and then get it done, there is nothing like a hands-on
approach.
