Dear Jean-Marc Huck,=20

I have been using my cdplayers (e.g. cdcontrol, KDE cdplayer) without=20
any problems.

BTW, if you use KDE, it should suggest using permissions 666 for the=20
related device entry in /dev. Changing permissions (IIRC, from 644 to=20
666) seems to have fixed all problems for me.

IMHO ~ In My Humble Opinion
BTW ~ By The Way
IIRC ~ If I Remember Correctly
HTH ~ hope this/that helps
AFAIK ~ as far as I know
eg ~ exempli gratia (Latin: ~ for example)
ie ~ id est (Latin: ~ that is)

Incidentally, you mount(8) a CD containing data organized in an ISO=20
9660 filesystem; which filesystem you mount under a mount point of=20
your choice (say /cdrom). On the other hand, you access a "music" CD=20
-- ie its tracks -- via eg cdcontrol(1), or the KDE cdplayer.

Best regards,
Salvo
