It didn't mention which standard, and I guess from the lack of citation
that you have that information to hand either.

I suspect that the main objection to this commit is that even those who
were for it wanted it done a different way.  Yet again it seems that the
spoils have fallen to those prepared to just commit and shout
"bikeshed!" at anyone who objects.
