First, please hit carriage return before your lines get to be more
than 80 characters long - 70 would be even better.

Try checking the Makefile in the directory you created the new
directory in. It should be obvious how new directories are added there
to anyone who can write kernel code. If the directory isn't in the
kernel tree, you may have problems. But a symlink will probably solve
them.
