I just installed a sound card and the kernel has seemed to find it... sbc0: <ESS ES1869> at port 0x220-0x22f,0x388-0x38b,0x330-0x331 irq 5 drq 1,0 on isa0 pcm1: <ESS 18xx DSP> on sbc0 at this point from what i have read i need to do a sh MAKEDEV sbc0 but i get the error spoofy# sh MAKEDEV sbc0 sbc0 - no such device name spoofy# pwd /dev What am I missing here? Ive noticed some programs look for /dev/dsp in regards to sound. Is that the device I should MAKEDEV? thanks in advance. /John To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
