My server has /usr/tmp and /var/tmp pointing to /tmp which is
a special partition mounted to disallow execution, suid and
other stuff you don't want people to do on /tmp.

Creating a temp dir in /tmp is a good idea though, I might
put it in the global profile for the server...

Question: don't you mean 700 directory?
