How about a map of your local area with a grid on it, swap to a very simply
grid with some colours in it, with a sequence of smaller and smaller grids
until a picture shows up as being an imagine of something popular.

A zoomed in image of Bart Simpson worked well for me showing a friend.
You start with a 2x2 grid of yellow and end up with a normal frame and
finally remove the gridlines.
