Hey, good news! Turns out there was a BIOS setting to enable the
"Virtual Machine Manager functions" of my CPU that I had enabled.
Turning that OFF actually allows virtualbox to run!

I'm very excited, thanks to all those who followed up, and my
apologies if I tripped over a known issue.
