not exactly but I am confessing to a belief that FOSS as in free beer
can never work long term, *BUT* traditional closed source solutions
are even worse.

Fanatics (even those purposing middle ground solutions) always fall
into this trap (my self included)... now that being said only a
fanatic would at least take an honest look at any possible method.

If you had read the whole thread I never made any mention that it
