AS long as they are all UFS1, it'll be fine.

I do this with my /shared (and actually all of them) partition:

$ df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
/dev/ad0s2a   1030702  121770   826476    13%    /
devfs               1       1        0   100%    /dev
/dev/ad0s2e    257838    1624   235588     1%    /tmp
/dev/ad0s2f   8510490 4915226  2914426    63%    /usr
/dev/ad0s2d    515886   79668   394948    17%    /var
/dev/ad0s3e  37054050 9635386 24454340    28%    /shared
/dev/ad0s1a   1032142   83154   866418     9%    /stable
/dev/ad0s1e    516062   58538   416240    12%    /stable/var
/dev/ad0s1g   7480506 2061124  4820942    30%    /stable/usr
/dev/ad0s1f    257998    2142   235218     1%    /stable/tmp
procfs              4       4        0   100%    /proc
$

If was booted off stable, the -CURRENT stuff would be on /current/...
