The /stand directory that I have (created after a fresh install
of FreeBSD 2.2.1 about a year ago) has 19 hard links to the same file.
One of the links is named "sysinstall". In any case, this executable
is statically linked. If you go to /usr/src/release/sysinstall and
build sysinstall, you will get a dinamically linked executable.
I chose to install this file in /usr/sbin instead of /stand
because it needs the libraries in /usr/lib, so that /usr must
be mounted.

But I don't know how to build the static executable that
resides in /stand.
