Hello Dan,
The plain password means use the local system account passwords from the
server where sshd is running and is sent encrypted.
On the server you could use skey for stronger passwords or even the tis-auth
server for other options.
So my interpretation is no clear text passwords are sent.
I thought the key was generated by ssh-keygen on the server and then you
copy it to the client and set ttsh up to use it.
As to rhosts, I would not consider that very secure and do not use it.
I use ipfw rules with no ip forwarding and have had good success with ssh,
sshd on FreeBSD.
Using port forwarding from the ttsh client on Windows 95 or NT client also
works very well :)

Subject: ssh from windows

I have sshd running on my box. I'm trying to use Tera Term to connect
from my Windows NT box. At login time, I have three options:

1 - plain password

Do they mean clear text?

2 - RSA Key

How do I create an RSA for use on this windows client?

3 - rhosts

This file contains details of each host I've logged into. How is this
information generated?
