My system crashed during shutdown, so I tried to get a crash dump, but
I don't seem to be able to do so:

Dumping 1224 MB: (stops at 1177)

Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
cpuid = 1, apic id = 01
fault virtual address = 0x100000000
fault code = supervisor read instruction, page not present
instruction pointer: 0x20:0x100000000

uname -opr
FreeBSD 8.1-STABLE amd64

I'd appreciate your advice...
