You should run both ypserv and ypbind on slave NIS severs *only*.  The
master server should *not* run ypbind, otherwise Unpredicatble Faiure
Modes Will Occur.

The other email to you covered the other optoins pretty completely.  As
soon as I master making slave servers, I'm going to write a tutorial on
this.
