yes, after going through it myself i find it it sort of unintuitive as
far as the layout goes...  i was thinking the same thing myself about
putting both libs under /usr/src/lib/libf2c...

as far as us "legions" [sic] of fortran programmers, we haven't had
any problems because it does build properly via make in either the
/usr/src/lib or /usr/src/lib/libf2c dirs...  we "legions" also
recognize the lack of STANDARDIZED math facilities in C/C++ for
dealing with complex numbers, etc... and would like to see fortran of
course retained.
