Hi, The floppy and cdrom drives doesn't work by default in the current FreeBSD 5.1 version (FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE) whereas these drives do work on netbsd and linux. There seems to be a change in the devfs infrastructure between 4.x and 5.1. The documentation (FreeBSD Handbook) says the devices for fd and cdrom will be automatically managed.
