I am running 4.6-RELEASE and have had the same problem unde 4.5-RELEASE. While running gphoto2 i get the following: sofa# gphoto2 --camera "Nikon Coolpix 990" --port usb: -L *** Error ('Error writing to the port') *** For debugging messages, please use the --debug option. Debugging messages may help finding a solution to your problem. If you intend to send any error or debug messages to the gphoto developer mailing list <gphoto-devel@gphoto.org>, please run gphoto2 as follows: env LANG=C gphoto2 --debug --camera "Nikon Coolpix 990" --port "usb:" -L Please make sure there is sufficient quoting around the arguments. Once I found a site that described how to resolve this by mapping the port differently? I can't remember exactly but it is having problems writing/reading form the port. It works fine under Mandrake 8.2 but I don't want to use Mandrake. Any ideas?
