I asked the maintainer... it is known, it is being worked on, and the 
problem and fixes / workarounds are documented here: 
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=115218

If you simply pkg_delete the old version before you compile, it will 
work (because it does not pick up the old header).
