There's a icon that shows detected hardware devices. All of the devices including the wifi device have a green check next to them. So maybe like you and someone else speculated, the boot is getting past the wifi and is hanging on something after that. I'll give this another shot if I can figure out what to mount, but maybe the next question is what happens after it does the wifi stuff.
